SC 325 - Artificial Intelligence: Social Implications(3.00 cr.)Examines how artificial intelligence (AI) technologies shape and are shaped by social structures, norms, and power dynamics. The ethics of AI, algorithmic bias, and how AI affects criminal justice surveillance, healthcare, education, labor, governance, and identity are explored to better understand the impact on racial, class, and gender inequalities. Students engage with critical theories of technology, drawing on the works of scholars in sociology, critical data studies, and ethics to analyze the promises and perils of AI in society.
