EC 370 - Cost-Benefit Analysis

(3.00 cr.)

Presents the foundations and methods of cost-benefit analysis (CBA) used to evaluate environmental, health, and safety regulations. Students learn to develop and use CBA. Topics include the economic and ethical principles underlying CBA; the distinction between real costs and transfers; alternative methods for estimating benefits and costs; the discounting of benefits and costs; risk assessment; and federal guidelines for conducting CBA.

Prerequisite: EC 102 .
