EC 380 - Sports Economics

(3.00 cr.)

Applies the tools of price theory to professional and amateur sports. Students develop analytic tools useful in the management of sports (and other) enterprises and the evaluation of strategy in the contests themselves. Topics include market demand analysis; performance measurement and compensation of athletes; economic impact analysis and stadium subsidies; labor market discrimination; and collegiate sports.

Prerequisite: EC 102 .
Prerequisite (may be taken concurrently): EC 220 .
