HS 376 - Memories of Nagasaki and Hiroshima(3.00 cr.)
Presents a history of the memories--personal and collective, local and national--of the atomic bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima in August 1945. By looking at primary and secondary literature, art, and film, the course places the experiences of the survivors at the center of an exploration of the historical, cultural, and political contexts of postwar Japan that shaped the memories and narratives of the bombings.
