BL 241 - Invertebrate Zoology with Lab

(5.00 cr.)

An introduction to the exciting and amazing world of animals without backbones. The course focuses on the life histories, behavior, structure, physiology, and ecology of common invertebrate groups. Consideration is given to adaptations for interacting with plants and animals. Emphasis is also placed on those creatures that have a significant impact on the human condition, including those invertebrates of medical and agricultural importance. Students explore live and preserved specimens in lab to gain a greater understanding of structure-function relationships.

Prerequisite: BL 118 , BL 119 , BL 121 , BL 126 .
Recommended Prerequisite: BL 201 , BL 202 .
