TH 394 - Deaf and Disability Theologies(3.00 cr.)
Provides an introduction to Deaf and disability theologies, a growing field that provides transformative ways for thinking about God, church, and society. Students engage topics such as the historical treatment of Deaf and disabled people, biblical interpretations of disabilities, the theological underpinnings of the eugenics movement, contemporary models of disability, disabilities in relation to worship and the sacrament, and the current status of people with disabilities in the life of the church.
