ED 212  -  Collaboration and Cooperation in Early Childhood Education

Provides an in-depth understanding of how current policies prioritize evidence-based best practices to support the development of effective, culturally responsive methods in early childhood education. The course explores the influences of developmental theories that promote the creation of strong community relationships, utilizing knowledge of early childhood development in collaboration with community resources and drawing on relationships between families and other caregivers to support the growth of respectful relationships to create developmentally appropriate practices in the early childhood environment. Students engage in best practices and relevant research-based knowledge on how the linguistic, cultural, and economic factors strengthen values to build strong supportive relationships within the school and community through professional development and training, highlighting the crucial role of community collaboration in early childhood education.
