ED 115 - Outdoor Leadership Foundations(3.00 cr.)
Leadership does not exist in exclusive spaces such as business or commercial environments, but touches all of humanity in even the most unassuming places. This course is designed to establish a foundation for leadership for students, both outdoors and in the workplace, by challenging their perception of leadership and helping develop their leadership style, utilizing field experience and classroom-based discussions, skills-building workshops, and reflections. Foundational content like Kolb's Experiential Learning Process and William Glasser's Choice Theory compliment topics such as how to give/receive professional feedback, the tenants of an effective lesson, conflict management, facilitating debriefs, and decision-making processes. Written or electronic permission of the department.
Sessions Typically Offered: Spring Years Typically Offered: Annually
