ED 215 - Outdoor Leadership Expedition Immersion(1.00 cr.)
Designed to establish leaders in a complex and changing world, both outdoors and in the workplace. Students learn what it means to be a leader in the context of outdoor education through an eight-day overnight field experience and classroom-based discussions. Kolb's Experiential Learning Model compliments topics such as how to give and receive professional feedback, the tenants of an effective lesson, facilitating debriefs, and decision-making processes. The course provides students the opportunity to challenge what they perceive as leadership and expand their own leadership style. Written or electronic permission of the department.
