ENV 496  -  Environmental Studies Internship

(3.00 cr.)

To augment classroom learning with practical experience, students plan and apply for a supervised, semester-long internship in a professional setting where they engage in an in-depth exploration of a topic associated with environmental or sustainability issues. Students meet with the instructor in groups or individually and engage in weekly discussion and/or reflections. Under the guidance of the instructor and internship supervisor, students complete a final report or portfolio of work. Students complete a minimum of 150 hours over the course of the semester, including at least 120 of the required hours under the internship supervisor. Generally completed prior to final semester. Written or electronic permission of program director.

Restrictions: Restricted to environmental science and environmental studies majors or minors.
