SP 500 - Speech and Voice Science

Prerequisite: SP 501 , SP 505 ; or written permission of the instructor. Students learn advanced physiology and acoustics of speech and voice production, as well as current research and theory regarding speech perception. Technological advances in the measurement of the parameters of both normal and disordered speech and voice production are introduced. Students analyze the acoustic properties of speech through experience with speech spectograms. Credits do not count toward the graduate degree. (Spring only)
