GB 898 - New Approaches for Global Competitiveness

(3.00 cr.)

Prerequisite: All foundation courses and GB 705 . The determinants of competitiveness and economic development are examined. Beginning with firm level strategies, the formation of clusters, and national economic strategies, the course explores government policies, the roles of business, universities, and other institutions of competitiveness. Both developing and advanced countries are covered. Theory and policy are explored, as well as the nature of the organizational structure for improvement in competitiveness. Closed to students who have taken the course as a topic under GB 795 .
