Prerequisites for the Program
This specialization is open to students from any major. Students are expected to have taken a university-level calculus course and an introductory statistics course. It is expected that the student will have taken an introductory computing course or be using computing in their profession. The statistics requirement can be satisfied by taking Loyola's preparatory course, DS 510 or another approved introductory statistics course.

The degree consists of 31 graduate credit hours, as follows:

Program of Study
The program is designed around the required courses and electives. The program concludes with a year-long data science project where students practice the skills they have acquired through their course work in a real-world project, working with a client who has a data need.
