Advanced graduate work beyond the master's degree is provided in an organized, 30-credit program that leads to a Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS). Special arrangements for course selection will be made in conjunction with a student's advisor.

Requirements are as Follows:
- A minimum of 12 hours of coursework in school counseling.
- As many as 12 hours of coursework in other areas of education. Participants who successfully complete the prerequisites may take coursework in the Curriculum and Instruction for Social Justice, Educational Leadership, Educational Technology, Literacy Education, and Teacher Education programs. Participants are not approved to take courses in the Kodaly Music Education or Montessori Education programs. Participants must receive approval of their academic advisor prior to completing registration. Internships may be suggested; however they must be approved by the Director of Graduate Programs.
- As many as six hours of elective coursework in any area of graduate study. Participants must seek approval from their academic advisor prior to completing registration. Coursework in other graduate areas must be approved by the department and/or program.
