The Certificate in Administration and Supervision program is for educators that have already obtained a master's degree. This program is designed for candidates who wish to be licensed or endorsed by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) in Administrator I. For licensure or endorsement in a state or district other than Maryland in Administrator I, contact the state or district to determine the eligibility steps.
In the state of Maryland, to be eligible for an Administrator I license (supervisor of instruction or assistant principal), a candidate must complete a master's degree, have 27 months of effective teaching performance or effective performance as a certified specialist, and complete three semester hours of special education coursework. Students must have completed the special education coursework in a prior program. Students will not have an opportunity to complete the special education coursework as a part of the Post Masters's Certificate.
Loyola does not add the Administrator I or II endorsement to your license. Students must follow the application process as outlined on MSDE's website to apply for endorsement.
To be eligible for Administrator II (school principal), an individual must complete the requirements for Administrator I and present evidence of a qualifying score on the School Leaders Licensure Assessment to the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE).

Notes:
The programs in educational leadership qualify for state certification and have been approved by the Maryland State Department of Education and meet both state and national standards. Students completing this program must complete a special education course to be eligible for Administrator I endorsement.
