GB 730 - Business Analytics and Strategic Decision Making

Prerequisite: GB 600 or GB 715 ; GB 704 . Emphasizes strategic decision making using a data-driven approach to facilitate business decisions. Students learn to effectively identify, design, and implement integrated analytics solutions to business problems. Major topics include the scope of decision analysis technologies and their usefulness for improving strategic business decisions; the formulation of objectives; the development of alternatives; multi-objective value analysis; and simulation. Technologies considered include cloud computing, Hadoop, enterprise software for decision support, and data visualization.
