BH 305 - Legal Environment of Business(3.00 cr.)
Prerequisite: 60 credits. Restricted to Sellinger scholars. Examines the legal environment of business activity. Students learn to explain basic legal terms; articulate legal rights and requirements in the managerial setting; identify how a particular legal issue fits into the legal system and how law develops and changes; and discuss managing an organization's legal matters, including ethical use of the law. Topics include classifications and sources of law, dispute resolution, agency, business associations, corporate governance, contracts, torts, product liability, securities, equal employment opportunity; and intellectual property. Sellinger scholars are expected to undertake additional reading and prepare research in consultation with the instructor. Fulfills LW 305 course requirement.
