MG 407 - Managing Corporate Strategy

(3.00 cr.)

Prerequisite: IB 282  or BH 282 , MG 201  or BH 201 , and 60 credits. Restricted to senior business administration majors with a concentration in international business or management, or international business minors. Examines the emerging practice of Corporate Strategy, which involves management of what is often called "intrapreneurship," which is the application of entrepreneurial capabilities to the development of new ventures and innovative ideas within an existing firm. Topics include the consulting process, strategic management of technology, and other relevant areas. Case studies and readings will be used throughout culminating in an internal case competition that may be judged by faculty and local professionals, to prepare students to engage in and manage such processes in their careers.
