ED 412 - Integrating Academic Content in Early Childhood Curriculum: Math, Science, Literacy, and Social Studies(3.00 cr.)
Focuses on the integration of academic content across early childhood curriculum, with an emphasis on mathematics, science, literacy, and social studies. Students analyze, evaluate, and apply current knowledge, theories, and best practices to enhance children's understanding of history and social studies, covering topics such as political science, geography, economics, and social studies skills and processes. Through a focus on STEAM/STEM learning, students use observation and assessment data to design developmentally appropriate science activities that align with children's learning abilities. Literacy development, including receptive language, expressive communication, vocabulary, and emergent literacy are addressed through integrated, research-based practices that support early learners' academic growth.
