HS 499 - History Capstone(3.00 cr.)
The culmination of the history major, students draw on their content knowledge and skills to complete an original research paper on a specific topic chosen by the student in consultation with the instructor. Students meet regularly to discuss the research and writing process, including brainstorming a topic, completing primary source research, advancing a claim, integrating original research with existing literature, outlining and drafting, and revising.
Prerequisite: HS 100 , one HS 200-level course, HS 300 .
Prerequisite (may be taken concurrently): One HS 400-level course.
