The Construction Management and Real Estate Development (CMRED) program serves as a dynamic, interdisciplinary hub that bridges the gap between high-level business strategy and technical engineering excellence. With concentrations in both Construction Engineering and Real Estate Development, students are provided comprehensive educational ecosystem designed specifically to address critical workforce shortages in the built environment.
Managed through the Sellinger School of Business in collaboration with the Department of Engineering, the programs offer students a unique competitive edge, blending advanced business topics with specialized engineering curricula to meet the rising demand for skilled project managers and industry leaders. Moreover, the program is committed to experiential learning fostered through robust external partnerships with industry titans such as Whiting-Turner and the Maryland Center for Construction Education and Innovation (MCCEI). These collaborations do more than just inform our curriculum; they provide students with direct access to studio-based instruction, professional mentorship, and high-impact internship opportunities.
By integrating academic rigor with hands-on application, it ensures that graduates are not only prepared for the evolving needs of the national and regional markets but are also positioned as innovative problem-solvers in a diverse global industry.
