The course requirements are identical for all concentrations in the freshman year and the first semester of the sophomore year. Course selection for concentrations begins in the second half of the sophomore year, when a group of courses will send the student toward computer engineering and electrical engineering concentrations, or another group of courses will direct the student toward mechanical engineering and materials engineering concentrations. In the first semester of the junior year and all subsequent semesters, the student is required to select engineering courses in one chosen concentration.
