Advanced graduate work beyond the master's degree is provided in an organized, 30-credit program that leads to a Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS). Special arrangements for course selection will be made in conjunction with a student's advisor.

Requirements are as follows:
- A minimum of 12 hours of coursework in school counseling.
- As many as 12 hours of coursework in other areas of education.*
- As many as six hours of elective coursework in any area of graduate study. Internships may be suggested.**

Key:
* Curriculum & Instruction for Social Justice, Educational Leadership, Educational Technology, Literacy Education, and Teacher Education programs are open to participants who have completed the prerequisites. Courses in Kodály Music Education and Montessori Education are not available to participants. Prior to completing registration, participants must acquire consent from their academic advisor. Internships may be suggested; however, the Director of Undergraduate and Graduate Programs along with the academic advisor must authorize them.
** Participants must seek approval from their academic advisor prior to completing registration. Additionally, coursework in other graduate areas must be approved by the department and/or program. Participants are not permitted to take coursework in Kodály Music or Montessori Education programs.
