Requirements for the Major
The interdisciplinary major consists of eight courses (listed below), as well as the requirements of a second major field. One of those eight courses must be a diversity-designated communication course. An interdisciplinary major must also choose from one of the following three specializations: Advertising/PR, Journalism, or Digital Media.
- CM 203 - Introduction to Communication
- CM 307 or CM 308 (depending on the student's area of specialization).
- One additional CM 200-level course.
- Four CM 300/400-level courses (three of which must be from the declared specialization; one of the four must be a diversity-designated communication course).
- The appropriate CM 400-level senior capstone course for which all prerequisites have been met.
Notes:
- Interdisciplinary communication majors cannot take Media and Society as a specialization. Students must choose from Advertising/PR, Journalism, or Digital Media specializations.
