The comprehensive concentration provides a well-rounded introduction to, and education in, the performing arts. Featuring a combination of courses from our theatre and music curricula, students will build the foundations to become a triple threat and/or undertake interdisciplinary study and research in the performing arts.

Learning Aims

Students will demonstrate:

  • Advanced literacy in the terminology, conventions, and collaborative methodology of theatre and music.
  • Historical, literary, and theoretical literacy, defined as an ability to identify and recognize the major periods of theatre and music history.
  • A heightened aesthetic sensibility through participation in performance.
  • Eloquentia perfecta, defined as an ability to communicate and persuade through the arts.
  • Communication and information literacy, defined as the ability to conduct scholarly research in the disciplines.
