MU 350 - Recording Studio I

(3.00 cr.)

Prerequisite: MU 201  or written permission of the instructor. In this hands-on course, students work in Loyola's recording studio and learn the art and craft of live and studio multi-track recording. Students are assigned a number of projects to gain an understanding of fundamental principles and attain facility with recording equipment, techniques, and software applications. Through the study and application of the proper and creative use of these elements, students learn how the recording process not only documents the creation of expressive music but is also an integral part of that creation. The primary goal is to enable each student to produce articulate and expressive musical works through the digital process. (Fall/Spring)
