Discusses how the Holocaust and the persecution of the Jews were represented in French film from 1939 to the present. Students analyze how, at different times of their evolution, French cinema and French society have answered the questions: What happened? Who is responsible? How can we be sure we will never forget? The films analyzed include masterpieces such as Night and Fog, The Sorrow and the Pity, Hotel Terminus, Shoah, M. Klein, Goodbye Children, and Weapons of the Spirit.
