SC 373 - Sociology of Human Rights

Prerequisite: SC 102 . Human rights are approached from a comparative historical and interdisciplinary perspective. Students learn about foundational notions of human rights as they are interpreted in accordance with various belief systems and secular humanist philosophy; the UN-based human rights regime; and a number of contemporary challenges to the protection of human rights in the global era.
