WR 301 - Writing about Science

(3.00 cr.)

Prerequisite: WR 100 . Students practice techniques of writing nonfiction for the general public and engage in rhetorical analysis of the representation of science in popular discourse. Students read contemporary popular nonfiction that draws upon science and learn how writers use the art of prose to contribute to scientific literacy. A background in science is not required.
