IS 352 - Applications Development

(3.00 cr.)

Prerequisite: IS 251  or BH 251 ; IS 353  (may be taken concurrently). Restricted to business administration majors with a concentration in information systems, or data science majors or minors, or students with written permission of the department chair. An introduction to software development with an emphasis on real-world applications. Students are introduced to programming in a modern computer language such as Python or Java. Principles of program design, programming structures, data structures, program testing, and debugging are covered. Emphasis is placed on developing a business application such as a mobile app. No prior programming experience is required. (Fall only)
