IS 353 - Data Management and Database Systems

Prerequisite: EC 220 , IS 251 or BH 251 , MA 151 or MA 251 ; or written permission of the department chair. Restricted to students with a concentration or minor in information systems or written permission of department chair. Students analyze, create a logical design, and implement the physical design for a relational database system. The course includes significant exposure to SQL (Structured Query Language) in both Microsoft Access and Oracle. Students will also be exposed to the challenges associated with managing large amounts of data. DS/IDS
