SC 202 - Social Power and Social Change

(3.00 cr.)

Provides a thorough examination and critique of the institutions of state, economy, and society from a comparative historical, macro-sociological perspective. Attention is paid to the ways in which various social systems (political, economic, cultural) coordinate to regulate human action over time and space. In short, this course engages with questions that ask how, and in what ways, institutions of culture, economics, and politics influence our possibilities as social beings. Formerly SC 102.
