SP 405 - Child and Adolescent Communication Disorders

(3.00 cr.)

Explores child and adolescent communication disorders through the lens of a strength-based approach including neurodiversity. Current research findings, traditional definitions, and portrayals of disorder through pop culture are used to better understand the physical, socio-emotional, and neurological bases of communication disorders. Students engage in collaborative assignments exploring case studies to problem solve treatment solutions.

Prerequisite: SP 103 , SP 201 , SP 207 , SP 301 .
Prerequisite (may be taken concurrently): SP 308 .
