TH 248 - American Feminist Theologies

A survey of contemporary American female theologians. Students read major works from white feminist, Black womanist, Asian American, and Latina theologians to examine the ways gender and race inform theological reflection. While there is substantial engagement with theological doctrines, the class also engages topics that shape the lives of many women, such as patriarchy, environmental racism, intimate partner abuse, poverty, immigration, and family.
