HS 205 - U.S. History to the Civil War(3.00 cr.)
Examines European colonization of North America, the formation of the U.S., and the challenges facing the new nation in the first half of the nineteenth century. Emphasis is placed on the interactions between diverse groups of Europeans, Native Americans, and African Americans. The course aims to establish a basic understanding of modern events and processes from initial encounter through the Civil War, including the interactions between North America and the Atlantic World.
Prerequisite: HS 100 . Restrictions: Open to students with catalogue year 2022-2023 or beyond.
