(3.00 cr.)

Builds on clinical judgment and reasoning, focusing on how these skills guide nurses working with diverse patients across various care settings. The course emphasizes the nursing process, basic nursing skills like monitoring physiological adaptation, and principles of safe patient care, including infection control and risk reduction. Students explore molecular genomics' basic principles and applications, understanding how these insights are used across various fundamental and applied fields. They learn prioritization, ergonomic techniques for organizing workloads, and how to use electronic medical records while maintaining patient confidentiality. The course integrates the Jesuit values of cura personalis (care for the whole person). It incorporates cultural, spiritual, and social health factors into clinical judgment. Students are evaluated through a variety of methods, including case scenarios, written exams, group discussions, group projects, and simulation exercises.
