MS 402 - Company Grade Leadership(3.00 cr.)
Focuses on the development of a company grade officer committed to the ideal that America and its founding documents remain the most powerful force for good in human history. It is an academically challenging course where cadets develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of junior officers pertaining to unit level leader roles and responsibilities. Cadets learn about Army programs that support counseling subordinates and evaluating performance, values and ethics, career planning, and legal responsibilities. Successful completion of this course assists in preparing cadets for their Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC) B course and is a mandatory requirement for commissioning.
The course produces a leader of character possessing a professional identity committed to the Army ethic and profession and a moral exemplar, prepared to be an Army leader who thrives in ambiguous environments, a skilled critical thinker, problem solver, team builder, a skilled oral and written communicator with knowledge of training management and Army Doctrine, and a leader committed to the ideal that America and its founding documents remain the most powerful force for good in human history. Field trip to Civil War battleground.
