Requirements for Major


Requirements for a major and an example of a typical program of courses are as follows:

Notes:


  1. To satisfy the history core requirement, all students (except Honors) may choose one of the following two options:

Option 1: Students may take HS 102  or HS 103 , and any HS 300-level course.

Option 2: Students may take any HS 100-level course (except HS 102  or HS 103 ), and HS 345 , HS 346 , HS 350 , HS 351 , HS 352 , HS 358 , HS 360 , HS 366 , or HS 367 .

Honors students take the Human Drama sequence (HN 201-HN 204) and one upper-level American history courses numbered HS 410  or above. Honors students with AP credit for HS 103  may fulfill their Honors core curriculum requirement in History with any course numbered HS 410  or above.

  1. Students must complete the diversity core requirement through a designated diversity core, major, or elective course (see Diversity Core Requirement  under Curriculum and Policies).
