Prerequisites for the Program
Students are expected to have taken university-level calculus and at least one other mathematics course. It is expected that the student will have taken an introductory computing course or be using computing in their profession. Students are expected to have had an introductory statistics course. The statistics requirement can be satisfied by taking Loyola's preparatory course, DS 510 or another approved introductory statistics course.
Degree Requirements
The degree consists of 34 graduate credit hours (three credits may be waived) as follows:

Choose one elective from computer science, one elective from statistics, and a third elective from computer science, statistics, or one of the approved graduate business courses (GB) offered by the Sellinger School of Business and Management:

Program of Study
The program of study is designed around the required courses and electives. The program concludes with a year-long data science project where students practice the skills they have acquired through their course work in a real-world project, working with a client who has a data need.
Please note, the following program of study assumes CS 701 has been waived.
