Interdisciplinary Major

An interdisciplinary major may be arranged between mathematics and another discipline. Students planning an interdisciplinary major must contact each department to review the requirements for that department. The following courses are required for the mathematics component of the interdisciplinary major:

• CS 151 - Computer Science through Programming  
• MA 251 - Calculus I  
• MA 252 - Calculus II  
• MA 301 - Introduction to Linear Algebra  
• MA 351 - Calculus III  
• ST 210 - Introduction to Statistics  or
• ST 265 - Biostatistics  

Note: CS 212  is strongly recommended as an elective.

Requirements for the Track

• MA 304 - Ordinary Differential Equations
• MA 421 - Analysis I

• 
  In addition, select three of the following courses:

• MA 302 - Programming in Mathematics
• MA 424 - Complex Analysis
• MA 427 - Numerical Analysis
• MA 428 - Computational Mathematics
• MA 445 - Advanced Linear Algebra
• MA 481 - Operations Research
• MA 490 - Special Topics in Mathematics (when applicable)
• ST 461 - Elements of Statistical Theory I: Distributions
