This program may not be covered by VA benefits. Students in the Evergreen Online M.Ed. should email the Records Office of Loyola University Maryland.

The M.Ed. in Montessori Education aims to develop strong outcomes for children, families, and communities in Montessori education. Students will develop integrated, culturally relevant, responsive structures in the school setting, investigate transformative educational methods through research and design, and recognize their pathway to strengthen outcomes across the globe.

The Evergreen online M.Ed., offered completely online in a part-time and full-time format, is focused on the core principles of diverse voices, inclusive practices, and educational change. Students will reconceptualize interpretations of the Montessori method, experimenting with innovative applications and systems while identifying high-leverage practices to promote strong outcomes for all students, including exceptional students and culturally diverse learners.

Degree Requirements

Thirty-six (36) credits of required coursework must be completed.

Note:

  1. A master's degree in Montessori education does not lead directly to teacher certification in Maryland. Students should submit official transcripts and course descriptions directly to their respective State Departments of Education to determine if courses satisfy specific certification requirements.
