CS 371 - Computer Engineering I

(4.00 cr.)

An introduction to circuit design and computer organization. Topics include Boolean algebra, combinatorial and sequential circuit design, and modern computer design fundamentals. Students explore how hardware design decisions influence programming language design and provide optimization opportunities in high-level code. Generally completed during the sophomore year. 

Prerequisite: CS 202  or CS 212 .
Prerequisite (may be taken concurrently): CS 295  or MA 295   or MA 395 .
