NUR 311 - Nursing Care of Adults and Older Adults Clinical(3.00 cr.)
Develops clinical judgment and competencies for patient-centered, compassionate care through goal setting, observation, practice, feedback, self-evaluation, and reflection. Students practice clinical judgment in the direct nursing care of adults and older adults, emphasizing safety, medication administration, medical-surgical procedures, and monitoring physiological adaptation. The course emphasizes psychosocial care and interprofessional collaboration within clinical settings, fostering critical thinking and clinical judgment. Competency is assessed through clinical practice, clinical evaluations, peer feedback, simulation exercises, skills checklists, direct observation, and feedback based on communication, critical thinking, psychomotor skills, safety, professional behavior, and self-reflection.
Prerequisite: NUR 215 , NUR 216 . Prerequisite (may be taken concurrently): NUR 371 , BL 362 , BL 370 . Concurrent Requisite: NUR 310 . Restrictions: Restricted to nursing majors.
