Notes:
- EC 102 and EC 103 satisfy a social science core requirement.
- It is strongly recommended that students who plan to spend all or part of junior year abroad must take EC 301 and/or EC 302 in the sophomore year. Students will not be allowed to take EC 301 or EC 302 abroad.
- Applied Calculus (MA 151 ) or Calculus I (MA 251 ). Students who have taken calculus in high school or have a strong background are encouraged to take MA 251 . This provides students the option of taking additional mathematics courses and/or completing a mathematics minor
- Candidates for the BA in Economics may substitute Introduction to Statistics (ST 210 ) for Business Statistics (EC 220 ). Note that both EC 220 and ST 210 count towards the third Math/Natural Science requirement in the Loyola Core.
- Students must complete the diversity core requirement through a designated diversity core, major, or elective course (see Diversity Core Requirement under Curriculum and Policies).
- Economics students accepted into the accelerated bachelors to MS in data science may take ST 765, ST 710 and CS 701 in order to complete the MS in one and half years. ST 710 should be taken during the spring of a student's junior year, and ST 765 the fall of their senior year. Both courses will count towards an economics elective for their undergraduate degree and the MSDS degree. Students without prior programming experience should also take CS 701 in the fall of their senior year which will count as an undergraduate elective.
