Notes:

  1. It is strongly recommended that students who plan to spend all or part of junior year abroad must take EC 301  and/or EC 302  in the sophomore year. Students will not be allowed to take EC 301  or EC 302  abroad.
  2. Candidates for the BA in Economics may substitute Introduction to Statistics (ST 210 ) for Business Statistics (EC 220 ) if and only if the student also successfully completes Calculus II (MA 252 ) or Econometrics (EC 420 ).
  3. Ordinary Differential Equations (MA 304 ), Calculus III (MA 351 ), and Analysis I (MA 421 ) are recommended electives for graduate school prospects.
  4. Students must complete the Diversity-Justice requirement by completing two Diversity-Justice designated courses anywhere in their curriculum (see Diversity-Justice Requirement under Curriculum and Policies)..
  5. Economics students accepted into the accelerated bachelors to MS in data science may take ST 765, ST 710 and CS 701 in order to complete the MS in one and half years.  ST 710 should be taken during the spring of a student's junior year, and ST 765 the fall of their senior year.  Both courses will count towards an economics elective for their undergraduate degree and the MSDS degree. Students without prior programming experience should also take CS 701 in the fall of their senior year which will count as an undergraduate elective.
