Business Economics, Quantitative Specialization, BBA


This specialization is appropriate for those who plan to pursue master's or doctoral work in economics and prepare for careers in research and/or teaching. This path is also appropriate for students interested in analytical careers in economics or finance. 

Key:


* EL707 and EL715 may be taken in lieu of EC 341  for students accepted to the Accelerated Bachelor's to ELMBA program.

** EC 220  counts towards the third Math/Natural Science requirement in the Loyola Core.

Notes:


  1. Ordinary Differential Equations (MA 304 ), Calculus III (MA 351 ), and Analysis I (MA 421 ) are recommended electives for graduate school prospects.
  2. Students who wish a broad, business-oriented program may elect to pursue the Bachelor of Business Administration in business economics. The BA is described under the Loyola College of Arts and Sciences.
  3. Economics students accepted into the accelerated bachelors to MS in data science may take ST765, ST 710 and CS701 in order to complete the MS in one and half years.  ST 710 should be taken during the spring of a student's junior year, and ST765 the fall of their senior year.  Both courses will count towards an economics elective for their undergraduate degree and the MSDS degree. Students without prior programming experience should also take CS 701 in the fall of their senior year which will count as an undergraduate elective.
