BL 240 - Invertebrate Zoology(3.00 cr.)
An integrated lecture/lab course looking at the amazing world of animals without backbones. The course focuses on the structure, physiology, ecology, and behavior of some invertebrate groups found in marine, freshwater, and terrestrial ecosystems. The role of invertebrates in natural environments and human society is also considered. Students observe preserved specimens in lab to gain a better understanding of structure-function relationships and observe live organisms in their natural habitats during field activities. Closed to students who have taken BL 241 .
Prerequisite: BL 121 , BL 126 ; or BL 154 , BL 155 . Sessions Typically Offered: Spring Years Typically Offered: Annually
