NUR 421  -  Population Health and the Catholic Tradition of Social Justice Clinical

Develops clinical judgment and competencies in patient-centered care within the context of population health. Through goal setting, practice, feedback, and reflection, students focus on nursing interventions that promote health, reduce risk, and prevent disease in diverse communities and clinical settings, while addressing health disparities and emphasizing health promotion, disease prevention, and harm reduction. Competency is assessed through clinical practice, peer feedback, self-reflection, case studies, group projects, and structured evaluations, measuring students' ability to apply clinical judgment, engage in evidence-based practices, and demonstrate the core competencies required to promote health equity. Must be passed with a C or better.

Prerequisite: At least a C or better in NUR 310 NUR 311 NUR 315 NUR 316 NUR 320 NUR 321 .
Concurrent Requisite: NUR 420 .
Restrictions: Restricted to nursing majors.
